Tea time and already twilight has arrived...

OH MAN!

I shouldn't be so excited about this - but I just discovered something utterly marvellous!  Yes, it's wormbase!  With all the information one could ever wish about C. Elegans!  Yes, genetic maps and gene profiles and wonderful literature about aging and expression and caloric restriction!  Thank god.

 

What has my life come to?  I am, however, looking forward to this evening's chamber music concert - I've been "pre-gaming" by re-familiarizing myself with certain works of Haydn, Beethoven, and Shostakovich.  Eee!

yes! wormbase is fantastic!

my advisor here works with C. elegans. I had her for one of the intro bio classes, in which one of the three big projects involved </i>C. elegans</i>. She got so excited about them, and about wormbase.

it's very funny that you ended up being the random livejournal user i wrote to last year about this time. i remember when i first found your site and i sifted through your entries and gathered up as much of an image one can make of a person from a weblog. and then i got to know you, it was an unconfrimed thing in my head that it was you who was stoneunturned. and as i got to know you, you and stoneunturned were linked in the back of my mind because things matched - like the way you talk and how you wrote in your livejournal, and of course, that you play violin (i was thrown off at first because i only knew you to play viola when i met you.) misconceptions i made about stoneunturned carried over into real life, leading to things like thinking you might be an english major.
serena's email made me realize in turn how awesome chamber music with you all is for me too, and how lucky that we were put together, though i 'm not sure how much your request for an all-girl quartet had to do with things. and the 'serioso quartet' advertising idea is hilarious. it'd be more hilarious if we actually did it. it's really late. i stayed up this late to pre-register for econ, but i've been locked out of the website because i don't know my PIN number nor the answer to my secret question which is the name of the street i grew up on. i should accept defeat and go to sleep. see you at rehearsal.

Oh. So that's how you spell it. I'm so disappointed, I can't even express myself... Yeah, I busted out my thrice-used livejournal account so I could come ferret you out in stalkerish fashion. Maybe I'll get back on the bandwagon, but don't count on it. When it comes to journal-keeping, I'm still too angst-driven for my own good.
